A portion of Joe Cicero's 2023 Cyphercon talk "Dragons Can Fly", showed how thousands of phishing sites were being mis-categorized by numerous Gartner Magic Quadrant Web and DNS filtering products. At the time, Joe was finding and re-categorizing these domains one at time, hense "Eating The Elephant". In this talk, Joe will discuss the automation of this process which allowed for the blocking of 500 thousand individual domains specific to his organizations Internet traffic. Most organizations do not have an unlimited Information Security budget and if you've read the "Cybersecurity Paradox", too many security products can actually make you less secure. Web and DNS Filtering is a simple security technology that most companies deploy.
