Edna Jonsson

Edna Jonsson (they/them) is a dedicated cybersecurity professional and privacy advocate with a strong focus on threat hunting, incident response and malware analysis. They are passionate about combating non-consensual intimate image abuse and other privacy-related issues, striving to create a safer digital environment for all. Edna has an extensive background in coding and enjoys imparting knowledge through teaching, having instructed at various coding bootcamps and summer programs. In their community, Edna serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for BSides Orlando, organizes the Orlando site for DEATHCon, and actively supports the local DC407 chapter. They host the podcast Security Chipmunks, aimed at assisting individuals early in their cybersecurity careers. Additionally, Edna played a pivotal role in expanding the WGU Cybersecurity Club to over 8,000 members, operating under the motto "No Owl Left Behind" to ensure comprehensive support for all members. Edna has spoken about how to combat non-consensual intimate image abuse at ProtectCon '25, Crypto & Privacy Village at Defcon 32 and various groups and organizations. Recently, Edna's expertise and dedication were recognized when their team secured first place in the Capture The Flag (CTF) competition at the Wild West Hackin' Fest Mile High 2025. Through their professional endeavors and community involvement, Edna remains committed to advocating for privacy rights and educating others on critical cybersecurity issues.
