Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
Industrial Control Systems (ICS) form the backbone of our economy and will play a pivotal role in its future. During this talk, we will have an honest conversation about what it is like to have a career in ICS, compare and contrast it with what is happening in IT, and discuss the impact of disruptive technologies on each field. Finally, we will make some predictions about what the future industry looks like and how to build a skill set to position for that future.
Neil Brandon started programming at an early age and, after high school, became a backend Unix developer. After several years working in IT, he transitioned into industrial automation, where he developed machine vision, robotics, and motion control applications. Most recently, Neil has worked in the SCADA space to create solutions for Renewable Energy and Data Center customers.
Neil is passionate about ICS Cybersecurity, data analysis, and hardware hacking.
