Gabe Emerson grew up on an island in Alaska, studied IT security briefly in college, got distracted by GIS mapping, then drifted into semi-professional dumpster diving. Gabe salvaged such discarded items such as a zoo monorail train and a NATO radar dome. Gabe Emerson runs a small-to-medium Youtube channel (Saveitforparts) where he rebuilds, re-purposes, hacks, or otherwise messes with random junk. Gabe Emerson considers himself an expert in very little, but OK-ish at a lot of subjects. Between his office day job and backyard duck ranch, he is also writing a book on forgotten railroads. In his spare time he likes to dig tunnels under Wisconsin.
